BRUNSWICK, Ga. (January 17, 2012) – HunterMaclean, a leading business law firm in Georgia, is pleased to announce that Robert M. Cunningham recently joined the firm’s Brunswick office as a partner. Cunningham is an "AV" rated attorney and has more than 30 years of experience in the areas of creditors’ rights including bankruptcy, foreclosure and forbearance; estate planning and probate, real estate closings, small business formations, and Social Security disability. 

Prior to joining HunterMaclean, Cunningham was partner at the Brunswick firm of Gilbert, Harrell, Sumerford & Martin, P.C. He belongs to the American Bankruptcy Institute and is a member of the State Bar of Georgia’s Bankruptcy and Real Property Sections. He is past president of the Brunswick-Glynn County Bar Association and is a former board member of the Coastal Bankruptcy Law Institute.

An Atlanta native, Cunningham earned a Bachelor of Arts in English from Davidson College in 1974 and graduated from the Walter F. George School of Law at Mercer University in 1978. He currently serves as a legal advisor for Alzheimer’s of Glynn/Brunswick, Inc., and for Keep Brunswick-Golden Isles Beautiful, Inc. In addition, Cunningham is an active member of the Brunswick Kiwanis Club, a charter member of Wesley United Methodist Church at Frederica, and an executive committee member of Coastal Georgia Rails to Trails, Inc.
